  I think the only people glad the halls will be open are the elderly (because meetings are their social life)

  They don't come much older than me and Sister England but socialising in a sealed room with no windows and a pathetic air handling system is not an attractive pastime for us! In my area people are still dying of Covid and we have no desire to join that group.

  Of course it all depends on approval from the Branch Office but I suppose they will just kowtow to HQ, they are are "yes men" just like the congregation elders.

  because he is shown that way in older representations of him that are older then the traditional effeminate looking pictures.".

  watchtower 1968 p.286 "bible evidence and a recent review shows that jesus did have a beard..." charles russell style of beard was popular at bethel...till rutherford took over.

  Do you find anything sinister about this? A little paperwork for the secretary to fill out and now you give the Society control?

  Absolutely true! It's another "simplification" lie as per when the contribution for literature was removed. In 2014 the CC launched an investigation into JW's all to do with the Moston(?) congregation in Manchester. It brought a lot of bad publicity and probably caused some JW's to wake up. The CC website for each congregation contains a fair bit of information about each registered congregation, not just financial but a list of the elders or Trustees as they are called. Removing registration stops a lot of prying eyes.

  Now all the dealings with the CC are under the direct control of the WTB&TS of Britain and the KH Trust. There are a few interesting names on the Trustees of the KH Trust including Denis Dutton who many on here will know. So yes, I think it is sinister. Especially if child abuse cases raise their ugly head as per Manchester. As you rightly say the paperwork the secretary had to submit each year was really trivial.

  Personally I don't think they will sell off all the KH's as yet. The March 2022 "Announcements and Reminders", Item 3, refers to two documents, "A/V guidelines for resuming in-person meetings at the KH (S-260)" and "A/V instructions for hybrid meetings (S-261)" which I have not been able to source as yet but sounds to me like they intend to resume KH meetings possibly with ZOOM for us old decrepit members!

  Does anyone know why KHs are always late submitting their charity accounts?

  I don't believe that is correct. Over the years I have seen a few congregations that are late submitting and especially during the last two years due to Covid. Our congregation has never been late nor have the congregations that share our KH.

  I think the guy in the video (R & R?) knows little about the finances of the organisation judging by his video. What actually happened is that about 2015 the vast majority of congregations in the UK were asked to sign over their KH to the KH Trust. Of course this had to be put to the congregation for a vote but as with all these "votes" it was carried unanimously and so we said goodbye to the ownership of our KH's.

  Then about a year ago we had another vote, this was for congregations who still held the title deeds to their KH to sign them over and also to vote to leave the Charity Commission. This would make life easier for the congregation secretary as he would no longer have to submit the annual accounts and report to the CC. Needless to say this was also carried unanimously. If anyone thinks these votes are a genuine choice the simply Google "Menlo Park Cong of JW's".

  This has now happened and if you look up your congregation on the CC site you will see it has been removed. I would be interested to hear of any that are still registered. Newly formed congregations have not been registered for some years now.

  The new accounting system has been in place for about two years or more where congregations only keep on hand "three months operating expenses" and all the rest is sent to the WT Society. It stops elders funding their favourite projects!

  The basic problem is that elders (Trustees) are just a bunch of "Yes men", they always do what the WT society tells them. They enjoy being elders and their wives enjoy being married to an elder!

  After listening to GB Update #2 recently I am sure they will be pushing to get JW's back in the KH's ASAP. More control, more donations.

  I received a letter from an unknown JW yesterday.

  lovely handwriting .it had an e-mail supposedly to the cong.that didn`t work and a p.o.

  box for the congregation.?.

  he/she wanted to share a positive message to me.quoting rev,21:34.then goes on to say ,"because death mourning and pain don`t exist in heaven these scriptures are referring to future conditions on earth and goes on to quote isa,55:11 ,job,14:14,15 ., and acts.24:15.. then the invitation,if i would like to know more ,to visit the jw.org website .and signed itself sage.. wtf ?.

  I have no idea how many KH's there are in Australia but according to the 2021 Service Report they have 70,034 Avg Pubs (70,951 Peak) and 748 congregations which corresponds to a fairly typical 95 pubs per congregation. Having only 15 KH's would mean about 40 congregations sharing each KH.

  has anyone heard any word on active witnesses inside the ukraine and what has been happening with them the last week or so?

  i checked the official org website but there was just the expected "fulfilling bible prophecy" stuff.

  perhaps someone here has bethel contacts who have leaked some info on what the gb is trying to do for these victims of putin's madness?.

  I'm sure the GB will be very concerned for JW's in Ukraine as the economic and banking sanctions deepen. It may be they will have to device an alternative method for forwarding contributions to HQ!

  Was anyone removed from Bethel for suggesting the Governing Body were the "Faithful Slave"?

  i remember reading somewhere a reference to ones at bethel being removed for suggesting that the governing body was the faithful and discreet slave, years before the org.

  made this change.

  am i wrong about this?

  I remember reading about that on here some years ago. I think it all happened back in the 1980's and it was followed with a WT article explaining that the F&DS was all the anointed that were alive at that time.

  As of 21 Jan 2022, 26,813 JW's had died of Covid. I can't see them rushing back to KH's any time soon.
